¡Hola amigos! After finishing what has been a difficult (but rewarding) year, I am FINALLY packing up that dusty old backpack of mine for another adventure: through the rich countries of Central America! With only three weeks to see five countries, I will start my solo journey in Costa Rica where it will be canopy tours and beach days. Then, it's off to Honduras, where the Mayan ruins give "assurance that the people who once occupied the Continent of America were not savages." Working my way north through Guatemala, trekking through rainforests and some spectacular Mayan ruins, I will eventually find my way to Belize. After seeing the capital and boating it to the island of Caye Caulker, I will head up through the southern coast of Mexico, stopping at Bacalar, Tulum, and finally will depart from Cancun. I can already taste the Gallo Pinto, hear the beat of Caribbean drums, and smell the Central American rainforest...
