Finally able to jet off again, this time to EUROPE!!! Having a bit of a reunion with some Londoner mates and then getting to know Portugal for about a week. Just booked my ticket and very ready to leave my life for a couple of weeks, coming back right before Christmas. It's been a long, almost two years since my last vacation, but this one was more of a spur of the moment plunge. I just really have to get out of the hustlin' bustlin' America! Corporate America had me at the jugular!
So, leaving good ol' Beantown on December 12th, short layover at O'Hare (grumble grumble....I haaaate O'Hare!), then crossing the pond and arriving in London in the EAAARLY AM on the 13th. In London for the weekend, catching the sights, seeing some mates, and then on the 17th I'll be jetting off to Lisbon until the 22nd....overnight layover in Frankfurt and then in Boston right before the Christmas frenzy. Should be fun, eh?
Finally got paid to leave my primary job....quit the second....and put the third job on hold for now. I couldn't be happier....so how else would someone spend their severance.....pay off bills....secure their future while finding a new job???? no....lets just blow it on two months overseas while doing everything I wanted to do the first two times I was over there!!! Me, myself, and I are heading back to Bangkok via Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and then heading into the northern provinces of Thailand, then heading overland into Laos for Luang Prabang and Vientiane, then overland to northern Vietnam.....then making it south somehow to Saigon....overland to Cambodia to finally see Angkor Wat...back to BKK for goodbyes, then south for a bit of beach time before I fly back out of KL. It's a lot of ground to cover for just under 7 weeks time. Time to go pack that bag!
Well I'm jetting off again solo to the other side of the world, Southeast Asia. My plans are rough, but the ideas are landing in Singapore, a couple of days there.....do it like Disney World in 2 1/2 days...buzz up to KL, trek for a day in the Cameron Highlands...then make my way up to Bangkok and the eastern coast, including Ko Samet. I'll be in the region from April 21 to May 8th. It's a quick trip, but worth every penny!
