In May of 2006 Johan lost his soul mate, Lorna, to a battle with cancer. Over the next 12 months, Johan floundered about and eventually found peace and joy again. This journal is about putting legs and spirit to this radiant joy that he uncovered. Johan's objective at a personal level is to use the twelve months from June 25th, 2007 until June 26th, 2008 to experiment and experience a Christian/Zen/Islamic awareness of the radiant brilliance of God and Godness. On a communal level, Johan hopes that others can use this example as their metaphor and springboard to launch their journey for inner peace, find a connection with their godhead and vicariously enjoy God's bounty that Johan is receiving. By way of explanation, why is this a pilgrimage and not a trip or travel, because pilgrimages are more about soulful growth than photographic brilliance. Pilgrims appreciate the beauty of God's nature but seek to incorporate it into a spirit-enhancing learning experience. Likely I will be a traveller most of the time, but the pilgrim moments are the ones I will privately remember. I encourage you to ultimately do your own pilgrimage, because it is your soul and not mine that you ulimately are and might wish to embrace. If this sounds too heavy, just enjoy my travel blog and ignore the Zen stuff. Note, to see the actual entries to the blog, click on "Johan's Pilgrimage" and this will open up the actual entries I have made along the way.
