Ok, so I will need to go back and make other entries but here goes the first. Am still in Kathmandu today and had a very easy day. Was supposed to meet Nymia (guy I met yesterday) at 9.30am at the Weizen Bakery but slept through as was up all night with dodgy stomach - something I ate on first night in Kathmandu or the delhi belly that followed me from delhi! Anyway had first proper HOT shower since I've been over here which was ahhhhh and then headed out in to warm sunshine. Got to Weizen at 12ish not thinking that Nymia would still be there but he was. I apologised and he was OK and joined me after his friends left. We had long chat and then he came with me while I shopped for gear for my trekking trip. Nymia lives in Pokhara and runs a volunteer project and is lovely. He just wants to be my friend and nothing more and I'm hoping that my good judge of character is true to form. It was great having him with me while I shopped as he told me what was good and not good quality and also got price down on a lot of things. In total I bought a north face jacket, fleece top, trousers come shorts, rucksack (I have too much stuff already and will send trekking stuff home to Mum and Dad as won't need in India), gloves, t-shirt, loose top and nepalese hat and all at a total of 57 english pounds!! can you believe? Very happy as I have it all now and won't ever need to buy again. We dropped stuff back at my hotel and had drink in the garden where we talked about my friends and family - everyone got great reviews! Then came to internet cafe where I am now. French guy sitting next to me said I was giving him a headache cause I type too fast! Am meeting my guide/porter for my trek at 5pm and then meeting Nymia at 7pm for dinner I reckon. Not sure what to have for dinner as am being incredibly careful about what I eat due to very dodgy stomach. Today I've had orange juice, fruit salad and a croissant and am not feeling hungry in the slightest!
I go to Pokhara on 7am bus tomorrow and hopefully will have time to email you all before I leave for the mountains on the 31st. Will be up there for 9 days before back in Pokhara on 8th for 4 nights. I then come back to Khatmandu and then go rafting for 2 days on 13th and today I have booked myself in to the lovely Khatmandu Guest House on 15th for 3 nights - it is lovely - beautiful garden to relax in and lots of young people.
Right friends I bid you farewell for now.
Namaste!
