Spent nearly a month here - 10 Days around Vancouver and the rest in the East. Highlights were staying in the reserve on Flores Island off Vancouver island, the Ice Hotel in Quebec and winter sports while staying with new friends outside Montreal
This leg started in Copacabana in Bolivia, which borders Peru. After 3 weeks in Peru, I crammed in two more in Bolivia followed by a week in Chile. I used La Paz (Bol) as a base and took trips to the Pampas in the North, and then travelled South through the Salar (salt flats and lakes) and crossed the border into Chile where I was mostly in the beach towns of Arica and Iquique.
I started the day trying to finalise details for my bus trip from Mexico City to the coast at Puerta Vallarta but seem to have ended up at the airport on a flight bound for Lima. Oh well.....
I have a return ticket back to Mexico for the 30th December.
So far I have spent about 4 days in Mexico City. By rights I should be in Guatemala right now but bought myself a 6 week stay in South America instead but will be back for New Year in the Capital.
Fantastic two weeks here!! 5 days in Tokyo and then a week on the Japan Rail Pass which took in Kyoto (Old Capital), Himeji (Castle), Hiroshima and Miyajima (Island), Kobe, Nagano (Olympics 1998), Odawara (Mt. Fuji) and back to Tokyo. Great cultural experiences and very kind people!!
I spent just over 3 weeks in Thailand visiting Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Ko Phi Phi and Ko Jum Islands, Krabi and Ko Phangan. Feels like I have been travelling for ages - cold showers are the norm here and I've had hardly a day without company.
Cant believe I didnt do this earlier!! Feel incredibly spoilt by all the friends and family who have put me up and looked after me so well. Had a great month in SA and looking forward to Hong Kong.
For those of you with atlass Ive been to Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Natal midlands and Kosi Bay (Manguzi).
