  • Halong Bay, Viet Nam
Begrudgingly we rose at 6.30am and stumbled downstairs for breakfast before our 7.30 bus to Halong Bay.  The bus arrived on time, much to my surprise and took us to the booking office where we were shepherded onto another bus (why cant they do things simply out here?).  The bus ride was pretty cramped, bumpy and generally uncomfortable, so we were happy to stop...

It basically leached into your body, so you and...

  • Niagara Falls, Canada
When foreigners imagine Canada they mention snow, ice, polar bears, the Rocky Mountains and Niagara Falls.  In truth, there is snow and ice in much of Canada in the winter, and a few polar bears around the Hudson’s Bay. We had seen the Rockies, so all that was left were the Falls as it was summer.  We planned that we would start our tour of central Canada in Ottawa, visit...
