Back to Italia!

Text written in: English

After Croatia, we were back in Slovenia for two nights, where we caught up again with Metka on Saturday night and went out for dinner at a Mexican restaurant. This Mexican was even less like the Mexican we had in Florence, with dishes like tortilla and goulash, lol. Again, the produce was good quality though.

The night before we had said goodbye to our new friend Asif, a British born Pakistani who now lives in Toronto. This guy knows more about Eurovision than me!lol Both dissapointed with the Finnish song's success:( It's hard saying goodbye to new friends made, as with Sue the tour before. "Hey ya Sue!!!" But I'm sure we'll come across Asif again in future trips, as he's as crazy as us about travel!

Yesterday morning we saw the new tour group leave for their adventures. But as we were checking out, came across a couple who had missed the group. I couldn't believe our tour guide would have left them stranded like that, but it appears he did. So some advice, if any of you do a tour like this, make sure you get your tour guide's mobile number asap! I felt really bad for this elderly Russian couple!

Spoke to Patricia (our last tour guide) on the phone yesterday as we were hoping to catch up with her in Roma. Unfortunately she has to stand in for a guide on a tour of Spain, which she was worrying about as she's never done this tour before. As long as she doesn't leave anyone stranded I said to her, she'd be fine, hehe

Now we are in Lodi staying with Leandro's Zia Maria, Zio Mario and cousins Laura and Antonio. Antonio is studying to be a Civil Engineer, so Leandro is quite impressed reading his Mathematical texts at the moment, how sad!lol

We will hopefully go to Torino tomorrow for a day trip, even though Leandro and I are quite exhausted by travelling! I can't believe I'm beginning to look forward to go back to work, just for some norrmality!haha It was great reading Tinicka's email this morning about her adventures in Santorini and hearing different perspectives of Greece. Leandro and I really didn't think much of Greece, but we didn't go to the islands. And we have great Greek food in Melbourne when we go out, but we only eat where the Greeks themselves eat, lol You've got to go to restaurants out where the Greeks live, like Oakleigh, outer East:) Looking forward to catching up with you Tin in Roma on Wednesday!!!

PS: Note with the pix below, it's Leandro becoming the alcoholic, not me! lol
