Heading North!!!

Said goodbye to Massimo and his partner Stefano that run the B&B we stayed at. Before we did though, we met another guest Rupert, who is an Italian speaking Welsh guy who lives in Berlin. We hope to meet up with him in Berlin before he leaves to go work in Amsterdam for 3mths. Don't you just love Europeans?lol

So Rebecca, your World Cup match is in Hamburg on the10th,hopefully we can meet in Berlin on the 9th!?! Be in contact!

Got to Milano, a 3 hr train trip from Firenze. Milano is so different to the rest of Italia, big and brash like London and Paris, and not jammed packed with everyone! Did buy some shoes,as you do.Only from Foot Locker, but they were bought in Milan!hehe Even sport shoes seem more trendy here though, lol

We were picked up by Leandro's Zio Cosimo and his wife in their funky sporty 5 dr mercedes with dance music roaring! I was a bit perplexed, but then remembered that Cosimo is a mechanic for Formula 1,2 and 3 cars, so even at 50something, they're still quite young at heart. Boys and their toys! When we were turning on the Autostrada at speeds on 160kph, I felt the need to keep crossing myself, even though I'm not even Catholic. I then realised that this family was a bit different, haha

We were greeted by Laura and Marco at home and ate well,as usual...The region of Lugano is absolutely beautiful! I really do know why people live in the middle of nowhere, with scenery like this. We drive into Switzerland each day, which is again quite weird, as they're not part of the EU, so we need our passports on us all the time. Switzerland seems to be doing it quite tough, isolating itself from the rest of Europe, but they don't want to disclose all their bank accounts, so to their detriment be it! In Lugano itself there would be about 15 different banks,amazing!

Off to dinner now with Renata and Leandro's cousins and then lunch tomorrow with Leandro's Zio Antonio.Ok, ciao ciao!

PS: 1of the pix below is of a cemetary not far from the relos in Varese. As you can see, with limited space, even the graves go up as they can't go out!
