More food and...BUGS!!!

Text written in: English

Drove to the town of Mantova yesterday where they had this weekend festival of "Grande Festa Tipica Sicilia". Was amazed we survived as the speed limit is 130kms/hr, but everyone goes 160. It gets a bit un-nerving after a while, so it's best to close your eyes and go to sleep and hope you wake up in one piece, lol There was all this food at the festa from bread which was huge to nougat to canollis to arancini, etc. It was just amazing to see all the produce! Leandro I'm sure gained 5kgs just looking at it and I unfortunately couldn't eat anything as I've been well and truly stuffed with food everyday and couldn't fit anything in. I did get more tanned though, which is still freakin me out.

Had dinner at Viviana and Roberto's beautiful house, which they're installing a pool at too. Had yet another fantastic meal and debated immigration into Italia and the seperation of Church and State in regard to schooling. I do understand that it's hard for these old world countries to change, but if they're going to let immigrants in, they have to be aware of the consequences. This is purely my opinion though. (Scott) It is truly interesting to hear other nationalities grappling with the same issues we do at home though.

Thought we would have a good sleep when we returned home, but was confronted by this huge centipede looking thing chasing after me on the bed. We lost it and then at 5am in the morning it fell on my head. I screamed, but yet again we lost it. It was then found in the morning in the corner of the ceiling (where they normally go). Paolo killed it for me so I would no longer freak out. He was prepared just to let it go out the window though in its own time. In Europe, they don't have insect netting on their windows, so anything can come in and set up house. I keep getting asked questions about Canguri and Koalas, but they've got their own crazy wildlife! Bears in the mountains too I found out.

Just a couple of things to note: If anyone says they can't get these updates, say to them that its probably gone to their junk folder. Also, if you want to keep up to date with the latest from Yen Yi's and Jason's future wedding in Arezzo, go to their wedding website at: www.boaranddragon.com

Now to the pix below:

1. When Italians have babies, they decorate their houses in either pink or blue ribbons. It's quite cute really, especially if they have twins, as double the ribbons. Don't know if this would work in Australia though, as I'm not sure how many of us actually know more than one or two of our neighbours, lol

2. Me, Martia (Paolo's cousin) and Martia's pug, "Molly". She's ugly, but soooo cute:)

3. Molly

4 & 5. Food at the Festa.

6. Filippo, Paolo and me in Bologna.

7. Viviana and her dog "Peggy".

8. THAT BUG!!!

Enjoy:-)
