the 12 hour bus ride from Bogota to Medellin should have been a walk in the park, compared to the 28hour stints we had done in Argentina, but the combination of full blast cheesy love songs, and extreme air con made sleeping difficult ( I honestly think the bus drivers believe that their passengers will perish if they are not conserved below a certain temperature.) Upon arrival we were soon rewarded, when Claudias brother Jorge took us to his country club.

We spent the day indulging in turkish baths, jacuzzis, swimming pools, and numerous drinks as top man Jorge had left us an open tab. We spent the rest of the week with Claudias family, who treated us like royalty. The daytimes were taken up by sightseeing with Clauidias dad. We visited among other things, Escobars grave, Downtown, the shanty town, traditional Paisa (Name given to the people from medellin) cafes, and a huge fruit market. When the fruit sellers found out that we were foreign, they made us try every fruit under the sun! I had never even seen half of them before! On a night jorge and Pochi took over, taking us to some pretty wild places.One that stood out by far was Mangos nightclub, which was possibly the craziest place I have ever been. Dwarfs dressed as bullfighters served us tequillas in syringes, whilst half naked women and men dressed up as various action heroes danced away on mini stages. Jorge also took us to a bullfight, which is a very popular activity in Medellin.

 It was certainly an eye opener for me! On the night, the bullfighting equivalent of Beckham won two ears, and the chicks were going mad throwing flowers, and even underwear at him as he did his lap of honour. ( I might have to give this bullfighting a go :) ) the food in Medellin was also amazing! I never knew colombian food was so tasty( Patakones and envueltos being my personal favourites). A massive thanks to the Posadas for looking after us, we had such a great time, hope to see you all again soon either in Colombia or England!
