Jaipur

The hotel Arya Niwas is good - close to the Ayurvedic massage that I enjoyed.  It was blissful once I was able to communicate the right degree of vigour!  You would not guess that someone so small could be that strong.

I passed a monkey on the stairs up to our room. 

We have been getting into the food and sitting out in the wicker chairs in the garden when not sightseeing. 

The palace in the foothills at Amber, the old capital was fun to explore.  You could see across the mountains to many other high-up places that were joined by walls.  The walk up to the fort was tempting but I chose to stay at the palace square and read the poetry of the court poets. They are mostly romantic or about nature, so very enduring.

Bazaars have been our other hang-out - mostly they are on streets with goods that are all the same.  the salesman are equally enthusiastic especially for shoes and clothes - really young lads can get into the art early and bargain like pros!
