How to ripp off a backpacker:

1. Have an office far away from the busstation and make a deal with the buscompany so they drop the traveler off there instead the station.
2. Make sure the poor lonely traveler arrives in the middle of the night! (3 o clock is a great time)
3. When the sleepy traveler gets out of the bus make sure you already have her backpack and carry it away so the traveler will follow, this way you can get her into your office without any trouble or discussion.
4. Pretend to give objective and true information about the area and further transport and all the prices.
5. Tell her that there will be no public transport for at least 6 hrs.
6. Sell her as much as possible for as much money as possible!
7. Don’t bargain tell her these are the prices!

 This is about how the Probolinggoscam works. I was not the best victim but considering my experience and my awareness that I was being ripped off – I was still pretty good. But what could I have done? I did not want to leave all by myself in the middle of the night with no idea where I was… so I had to deal with them. I ended up buying a package of transport to the Vulcano, a sunrise tour and the bus to Yogyakarta for 25$ which is about 5$ more than I should have paid and about 30$ less than he wanted. The thing I was really surprised about was that actually all the trips and tours I had booked with them worked out. Still I was very upset about the whole thing because it is a lousy feeling if someone takes advantage of you like that. I only overcame my anger when I met Monika and Micha who had to listen to the whole story and then reassured me that it wasn’t all that bad! Later I met some more people who fell for the same scam and who did not get away as cheap as I did!Other than that I enjoyed Mt Bromo! Have a look at the pictures and then imagine this to be the first thing you see when you open the door to your room. The view is simply breathtaking!   

Wie man am besten einen durchschnittlichen Rucksacktouristen ausnimmt:

 

1. Man nehme sich ein Büro fernab der Busstation und mache ein Abkommen mit dem Busunternehmen, so dass ahnungslose Touristen hier anstatt der Busstation abgeliefert werden.
2. Speziell arme Einzelreisende die mitten in der Nacht ankommen.
3. Wenn der verschlafene Tourist dann aus dem Bus klettert, schnappt man sich geschwind dessen Gepaeck und trägt es in das Büro – so wird der Reisende ohne Diskussion folgen.
4. Man gebe vor objetive Information über das Gebiet und weitere Transportmöglichkeinten und die Kosten zu geben.
5. Dabei erwähnt man das die nächsten 6 Stunden keinerlei öffentliche Verkehrsmittel gehen.
6. Danach verkaufe man soviel wie nur möglich für den höchstmöglichen Preis.
7. Von Preisverhandlungen ist abzusehen – alle Preise sind fix!
   
   

So inetwa funktioniert die Probolinggoabzocke. Ich war nicht das beste Opfer – aber wenn man meine Erfahrung bedenkt und dass ich mir voll bewusst war das ich gerade belogen und betrogen werde war ich doch ein ziemlich gutes Opfer. Was hätt ich auch tun sollen. Ich wollte wirklich nicht ganz allein mit all meinem Zeug und ohne Plan wo ich genau bin durch die Nacht irren... drum musst ich mich irgendwie mit den Leuten einigen. Im Endeffekt hab ich um 25$ die Fahrt zum Vulkan, eine Sonnenaufgangstour und die Weiterfahrt nach Yogyakarta gekauft – das ist um etwa 5$ zuviel und um ca 30$ weniger als sie von mir wollten. Ich war wirklich überrascht, dass tatsächlich all das dann auch problemlos geklappt hat! Trotzdem zunächt war ich einmal ziemlich niedergeschlagen. Erst als ich Monika und Micha getroffen hab und mich bei ihnen ausgiebig ausgeheult hatte und sie mich liebevoll getröstet hatten gings mir besser. Es ist einfach furchtbar wenn man in einer so hilflosen Situation so ausgenutzt wird. Später hab ich dann noch andere Opfer getroffen und die sind weit weniger gut weggekommen als ich... Abgesehen davon war Mt Bromo toll! Schaut euch die Fotos an und dann stellt euch vor das ist die Aussicht vom Hotelzimmer... Einfach atemberaubend!
