Surfers Paradise?

We are staying in the center of Surfers paradise for a couple of nights at Islanders Resort Hotel. We have a clean double room with ensuite and quite a few mod-cons. Nice view from the balcony, a pool and spa so it is like a holiday resort. The beach is huge but not our idea of paradise. The whole place is sort of a mix between Vegas and Miami, Neon lights and pink hotdog bars!.
