After Chitral I hung out in Kalash Valley for a week. I bumped into my friend Jacques that I met in India within my first five minutes there. So that mission was easy. I heard from a guy at my guest house in chitral that Jacques (just from conversation I guessed that they were talking about my friend) was in Kalash Valley, so that was another reason (beside the fact that it is a beautiful place) to go there. What an amazing place and the people are great! I was able to teach English in one of there schools too. I picked fruit for breakfast, since there is fruit everywhere there. Rivers, mountains, green everywhere with friendly people, what a great place!
Jacques and I ended up hitching up to Shanur Pass and sleeping in a tent up there for 50 Rps. It was great up there too. Yaks everywhere, we helped some Chitral Scouts shave the yaks too. Not enough to do to keep us there for to long though, so we took the first ride out of there that we could, it only took us a day and a half. We bumped into some Taliban at Phandur lake and when the bus finally came we met Andy again and I also met Stefon (who Jacques had met before). I first met Andy in Peshawar at my guest house, so that was pretty cool. After one more stop in a little town we all went to Gilgit and stayed at the Madina hotel.
