Hard Times

Not really...

Theres just nothing like sleeping on a 4 dollar damp bed while watching an american highschool movie (mean girls, which I actually found to be a little entertaining) on HBO all while in Hanoi Vietnam. You'd think that the people who own the hotel might just spend less money on sattelite tv and maybee more money on dryers... (just a thought).

Anyhoo, this morning Noah and I took a cab to the train station to buy a ticket for Hai Phong, unfortunately we were told that you had to buy a ticket at the B station across the street. This was all well and good until we came to this station and found that no-one was manning the ticket window and a few motorcycle drivers were insisting to us that you had to buy a ticket to hai phong from another station a few k's away( and they could take us there for only a few measly dong). After some frustrating waiting, arguing, questioning, and negotiatng we realized that we would have to go to the other station and try our luck there. So we hopped on the back of a motorbike each and carreened through the streets of hanoi, dodging swerving stopping and speeding through traffic on the wrong side of the street without a helmet. As it turns out, we were able to purchase a ticket and get safely home, so all is well... but oh the beauty of travelling.
