Great Days Hard Nights

Text written in: English

So as one could tell by the last journal I was not happy last night and had to tell about the things that were pissing me off, yet yesterday was not a bad day. In fact, I had quite a pleasant and interesting afternoon. So Noah and I went out to try and get some simple missions accomplished, but we failed in many of them, which although dissapointing was pretty acceptable, as you have to have low expectations for what you can get accomplished as a backpacker. On the way home we stopped for Ice cream on a promenade in  the middle of downtown, and an argentinian guy standing in the line behind us began to talk with us. He asked us where we were from and once we told him the United States he asked if we didnt mind that he practiced his english with us, we agreed on the condition that we could speak to him in spanish. Now this sounds like a good agreement except that the first thing he really said to us was to ask us how we could have voted for Bush. Now Im no bush fan, but I think its better to at least go through some pleasantries before you attack someone's politicians, especialy if you expect to have a long chat. So immediately I was thinking to myself that this guy, sebastian, was kinda strange, but as I continued to talk to him I liked him more and more. He first told us that he was a guacho, but that he wasnt good at riding horses, so he was now a student studying in Buenos Aires. AS we chatted our conversations ranged from politics to language to voting patterns, he told us  a funny story about how one time a politician in cordoba gave out chairs to get votes, and becuase of this he won the election. Eventually we exchanged   e-mails and he gave us his phone number, promising help if we needed it. But the day with Sebastian was far from over, as we walked out of the icecream parlor,  Sebastian asked us if we wanted to see anything in the city, we responded, feeling a little like we wanted to get out of this unsolicited tour, that we didnt really have any preference so Sebastion decided to take us to San Telmo, and we in fact ended up walking for 3 hours and just chatting. At the end of it all, he walked us to a restuarant that he liked, and bid adieu as he had to go to work. It was an entire afternoon of incredible generosity, and I am happy to have made a new friend.
