Most of the day here is spent doing a whole lot of nothing, but yesterday afternoon the young people went out on a horseback ride. As we returned, disaster struck, Noah's horse careened into a ditch sending Noah headlong over the horse. As I was ahead of Noah I only heard a slight commotion and kept riding. After about 10 meters I stopped and decided to wait up for the rest of the group, soon I saw Marcellas' horse without Marcella walking up the road toward me, and I knew that I had to return. I grabbed the reins of Marcella's horse and began backtracking. Soon enough I came upon a whole group of people standing around. A motorist had stopped, and everyone had dismounted. In the middle, Noah's horse had a gaping wound in its chest muscle and blood covering its leg all the way to the hoof. To the outside Marcella was hugging noah who kept insisting that he was fine. After a while of taking-in the situation I knew immediately that Noah had a concussion. He had just fallen off of a horse but was acting goofy, also he could only claim very little memory of the events of the fall, and was most likely knocked unconscious as Marcella had called to him immediately after the fall and he had not responded for a few seconds. Further, when were able to examine Noah further, as it had grown completely dark by this time, we discovered that he had a big bump on his head that he had not even complained about. Accordingly, we watched him for a while and when his behavior began to return to normal we thanked our stars that he was OK. For me it was extremely frightening when I saw marcella's horse without a rider, wandering down the road, and it was not until I saw Noah standing up and talking that I felt slightly better, even then when he was acting funny I was so worried that I couldn't help but be a little bit irritable. There might be a lesson here, like horseback riding is dangerous, but I could care less, because I'm just glad that Noah's fine.
