bonjour brussels

Text written in: English

arrived in brussels, and checked in to our plush hotel, the metropole, in brockere. there was good news and bad news to follow... the bad was that they had no record of our reservation at all. the good was that they luckily had a spare -better than original one- room for us.

strolled around town, visiting the grand place. it's a beautiful square, with the most amazing gothic/neo-classical buildings. we had a lovely late breakfast in a quirky little cafe, then proceeded to walk around all of the sights in brussels.

after numerous strong coffees and leffe blonde beers, we went for dinner in a lovely restaurant just off the gallerie st hubert. delicious turbot and fillet steak followed, then we walked back to our hotel in the lashing rain, and did not let the rain bother us, cosy under our newly purchased yellow umbrella!

we then sipped some more leffe blondes (this has rapidly become my new favourite beer!) in the cafe metropole, with all the beautiful people, and then retired to our swanky hotel room.
