Luxury at last

Finally, a shower and proper bed!  We are staying at a 5 star place in Luxor (which is the equivalent of 4 star hotel anywhere else) and we have a lovely room with a view over the Nile and a nice pool (we needed that).  Today we visited Moses' jewellery shop.  Gold and silver is much cheaper in Egypt than anywhere else in the world!

Luxor is a nice city, especially along the river front.  The only downside is that you cannot walk down the street without being accosted by either a taxi driver ("Taxi?  You want taxi?") or a guy with a horse-drawn buggy.  The shop owners here weren't quite as bad as Cairo and they seemed to leave you alone more if you say no politely.

We had drinks in the local English pub (no joke, it is quite a good one too).  When I saw that the cocktail of the day was "Sex in a felucca" I had to have one!  Afterwards we had another nice Egyptian buffet dinner.
