where'd the time go?

Text written in: English

is it really time to leave CO already? what a nice break from traveling tho. around here, there is no fear, no "is this street safe?"  "where am I going today?", "where do I buy a frickin asprin?" I got to relax. heck, by the time I got to moab, it was a vacation within a vacation within a vacataion. but still, half my brain stayed fixed on the road. and honestly, I'm gonna be happy to get back on it.

last night I dreamt I was with this group of people and we were gonna float down this brown river (been researching lots about cambodia...hence the brown). but not with boats or life-jackets, just jump in and start floating. and I wasn't afraid. my only thought was 'where's a plastic bag for my camera?'. cool.

but WOW is it hard to say goodbye again! they say (tho don't ask me who 'they' are) that when you go home everyone's lives are the same. whatever! not around here, not with my peeps. the best thing was talking to friends on the eternal spiritual quest to become better people and learning that they HAVE: finding new levels of compassion, confidence busting out of their ears, realizing a job is a job and never forget there's more out there, more to LIFE. it was powerful to hear everyone's stories and humbling to remember you don't need to fly 10000km to rock your world (but it does help ;)

sunday had a great hike with part of my traveling crew - kym and kristin (and brig!). these guys rekindled the urge in me to not stay put, were part of an unforgettable trip to thailand 2 years ago. today I watched brigitte get ready to start clinicals after 2 years in nursing school. tonight we did some bike-style urban assault on the hospital she'll be working at starting tomorrow, so she knew just where to go at 6 in the MORNING. she's so excited and nervous - like the first day of school.

but so am I - its cool we're starting these new things together. I'm shocked I'm gonna eek out another year (or more) of this. but it's all never felt more comfortable.
