marvin is not a desert dawg

Text written in: English

the next day we packed up the bikes and left for moab, utah. marvin the wonder dog stayed home - last trip he took, he wouldn't drink on demand and suffered for it. so his desert days are over :(

heather booked our campspot about 1 year ago (this place is uber-popular) and we foud ourselves in a sweet, desolate canyon. not as big as the grand canyon, but easily 50 miles from one edge to the other.

the plan was to bike the trail/road and her mom would drive the 4x4, with a little trading off when she wanted to ride. heather's mom is a rock star - she drove over heinous roads, rode her bike over heinous rocks, passed out sweet pain killers, AND slept in a tent, and LOVED it.

we rode about 25 miles (my bum's not too happy about that), hiked to some ruins, drank beers, spit in the river. it was a great weekend but the pics speak better than I could:
