tendor libre!

I have my australian friends from bolivia to thank for today. they planted a seed about an all-you-can-eat meat fest in mendoza and today I found this little shop of heaven.

yesterday was an 18 hour bus ride through the center of argentina. I slept for all but maybe 4 hours of it, but also ate no food. Im SO paranoid about getting left again that I played it safe and didnt leave the bus. but I was also still in a stupor from salta and couldnt do much of anything so even if I could leave the bus, I had no energy to do it.

so I get to mendoza, eat a pastry and hamburger, rest, finally hike to to the hostel. today I slept until noon, woke up starving, decide this is the day for the all you can eat meat fest. basically, I ate for 2 hours straight. ummmm...like I did a few nights ago. idiot.

I met a guy in line who showed me the best food to order and the best steak to ask for. He also told me my spanish as good and understandable!! I held my own with the 50 yr old business men on lunch break. I saw overweight people (not tourists) for the first time in 3 months. I stayed longer than anyone around me (hee hee). dessert was a crepe made with carmelized sugar, apples & flaming liquor - as if it could get any better. my waiter was so great - hes applying for a job on a cruise ship and asked me to edit his application letter.

this is my first day in mendoza. such sloth & gluttony...man, I gotta do some exercise!
