we crossed the border into argentina, finaly dipped below the tropic of capricorn (or is it cancer?) and stayed a day in humahuaca - home of dirt roads and taxi drivers that ALL siesta from 1-4. we are staying in the artists' house. once you get used to the ants, it's excellent to have a free place to stay! and the walls are so full of texture and they have great stuff hanging everywhere. it's another mini art gallery.
but the sad news is the score is now south america - 0, nancy - 2. I haven't had anything stolen but I just lost my headlamp. must have left it in the hostel in tupiza. so now I've lost a jean jacket and my headlamp. that stinks.
and my iPod is dying. does anyone know the latest with the lawsuit? I deserately need that new one but I only have a few weeks in the states to get it taken care of. are they requiring people to mail it somewhere or can I get it replaced in the denver store? if you have info, please email me!!: nlehet@gmail.com
but I don't mean to sound so depressing. the best thing happening down here in south america is I'm dreaming about art every day now. I have ideas growing on how I'll turn this trip into art. I'm seeing the world through artist eyes once again - that's something I mostly lost when mired in the business world. Elia was telling me about 2 houses of pablo neruda in valparaiso. pablo believed water tasted different when drunk from different colored glasses - talk about advanced senses. I completely understand!
in general, I remember this mind of mine from when I was in immersed in art in grad school. it feels so good to finally be ¨back¨.
