Photos / videos of "Johor Bahru":

Down Jee Mai's street. Note the narrow roads. Behind Jee Mai's house. This is Jee Mai's house. Ching Yin, Fong Lin's daughter. The resemblance to Hello Kitty is startling! Sleeping Stephanie Vol. I The room I stayed in at Jee Mai's house. Stephanie brushing her teeth. A smiling Jee Mai holds an even more exuberant Ching Sian to the camera. Mum looking hungry. Sin Yee (Alicia) and Abi (Jonathan). A Malaysian stop sign. Ching Sian, the newest addition to the family. Sleeping Stephanie Vol. II This was taken from a highway. Mosque from the highway. Motorbike overtaking our car. You see my reflection in the side mirror. Fong Lin and her daughter Ching Yin. The first of many shops we visited during our stay in Malaysia. From left to right: Abi, mum, Stephanie and Sin Yee. Ching Yin, close-up, in the food court. This was Fong Lin's lunch, not mine, so I can't tell you what it was like. But from what I can see, hokkein mee, carrots, choy sum, chicken and boiled egg doesn't sound half bad. What is ice kachang you say? Start with a bowl of freshly shaved ice piled with green/black jelly, red beans, cornflakes(!), drizzled with evaporated milk and five kinds of syrup. This one added a scoop of ice cream. Eat, be refreshed. A traditional (Chinese?) dessert. I don't eat chendol so I can't tell you what's in it! What's a European dessert doing on a Chinese menu? No, there's nothing particularly French about a sundae with peaches and raspberry sauce. Ching Yin eating (thoroughly melted) chocolate ice cream in a food court in Johor Bahru. The three Zippos in the middle were shining stainless, RM19.90 apiece, and utterly fake. Me, Steph and Je Hey (Jasmine). My first bra. If you look closely, it says 'welcome' on one of the cups :) When I set out to create this album, I wanted to capture the spirit of Malaysia in my photos. Here is a pirated CD store. Enjoy. My mum's reponse to - 'can we go home now?' Seafood laksa. Supporting more traditional ingredients of rice noodles, boiled egg, fishcake, bean sprouts and fried tofu swimming in curry was an unusual addition: shellfish. I...am...so...bored...of...shopping!
