Cordoba

Text written in: English

Cordoba... before I came I knew it was a place in Argentina, between Mendoza and Buenos Aires. Now... after two days here, it's pretty much the same story. Glad I've stopped here, though. More cheap wine and BBQs and some really nice plazas and parks to keep the tourist in me entertained.

Added to that, our hostel is fantastic - offering a great breakfast for free, and a comfortable bed to boot. The price? 6 dollars a night. Bargain!!! Had a great BBQ in the hostel - cost just over a quid - which included salad, sausages and the ever-present steak. And plenty of it. Added to a couple of bottles of wine around the table, it made for a great meal.

One thing's for sure about Argentina. They know how to eat. And drink. And sleep. And worship football. (especially th fat cheating git known as Maradona) They also know how to sleep. In fact, every shop closes around 2 for a siesta. And if you want to go out drinking before 11pm, forget it. Nightclubs never close until earlier than 7am, and restaurants don't open until 10pm or so. It all makes for a student-style living pace. And plenty of late nights and later mornings/afternoons. Just like being at Keele. Only without the lectures to skip go to.

Next destination? Maybe Rosario, birthplace of Che Guevara. Otherwise, straight to Buenos Aires. Either way, I want to be in Buenos for Sunday, as Boca Juniors are at home and I'm in urgent need of a football fix.
