First India Experience

We arrived in India this morning and decided to go shopping.  India is nothing at all how I pictured it.  I was told it was dirty, but I could have never prepared myslef for what I saw today.  When I first walked off the ship, I was greeted by a man peeing on a wall.  I guess it is really common for men to pee anywhere they want to.  Also, cows are very sacred here, so they are allowed to do anything, including poop everywhere.  Every single person in our group of eight stepped in at least one pile of cow poop during the two hours we were shopping.  All the bodily fluid everywhere make the country smell awful.  There were a couple of times when the smell made me nauseous.  I also saw a woman attempting to beat her young child, who was barely old enough to walk, with a giant stick.  It really was crazy out there.  I am going to the Taj Mahal and Northern India tomorrow, so hopefully I will enjoy that part of India more.  I will keep you updated on the rest of my experiences.
