Now I have to figure out just how in the heck I am to get half way across the country...
Perth is cool. I have just relaxed for a few days from the travel here. I'm exactly 12 hours difference as we speak from eastern standard time. But that will change I think when daylight savings time begins here. It's spring and summer is coming but right now it feels similar to ciuc in the autumn.
I walkded around perth yesterday and it is a cool area. A lot of the historical parts were built by the large amount of prison labor. The west was where a lot of the prisoners were sent because the only thing they could run away to was a serious neverending desert.
Supposedly the beaches are the best for surfing. It is a bit cold right now and I don't know if swiming is a good idea but I will go have a look and see what happens. Maybe just get my feet wet. Just to say I was in the indian ocean...
The hostel I'm at is pretty cool. It is the sizew of a hotel and has a huge kitchen and other facilities like workout area and pool. I have only had one beer here cause the price of alcohol is outragous. A beer costs about 4 ozzie dollars which isn't that much compared to the states but coming from Romania that makes me want to cry. Not even any cheap beers to be had. Guess I'm going dry for a while.
I'm looking about how I am going to get across the Nullarbor Plain. Basically I have to go from erth to Port Lincoln area and I am checking all my options. I have the choice of a train, bus, or hitching a ride. All will take a few days ride. You can't drive night cause it isn't safe. The desert is unforgiving and you have some places where you have 350 Kilometers before you have any water or gasoling. Crossiong the desert can be wild!
I am looking at the prospects of buying a really cheap car or traveling with others and sharing expenses. I'll ledt you know when the options present themselves.
Peace, Drew
