Hanging with William

Text written in: English

After experiencing the orangutans at Sepilok we didn't really know what to do. The weather didn't permit any of the other trips we wanted to do in Borneo and our plane to the Philippines didn't leave for another few days. Then we met some Dutch folkswho said they had stayed at a place with access to kitchen facilities. That was convincing enough and we hitch hiked our way to William' Travel Adventure Lodge Kinabalu right at the foot of Mt. Kinabalu. It turned out to be a great decision. We basically had the place to ourselves and cooking our first meal in 8 months was a treat. So much a treat that we decided to stay another day just to cook some more. We invited our host William to eat with us. He came to the table with a bottle of rice wine. He didn't want any himself but offered happily. We realized why he didn't want any-he had already drunk a bottle by himself. He was a really friendly guy and made our stay at the TALK lodge very pleasant.

Photos / videos of "Hanging with William":

Dinner with William and some rice wine...as you can see, William had a bit too much rice wine. The amazing view from our front porch of Mtn. Kinabalu. A huge moth we found on the front porch...he was still able to fly even though part of his right wing had a big tear in it. Off we go- William working in the garden. Cookin' in William's kitchen
