Not only the home of the Inka, but the home of Peruvian tourism and a gathering spot for travellers worldwide. Its a great city, red roofs, green plazas, old buildings, older stone walls, and a little kid willing to and very much hoping to sell you anything from postcards, tours, paintings, weavings, lighters, stickers, finger puppets, snacks, drinks etc. Ive spent a few days in town, looking at great examples of Inka stone work, and a number of museums and galleries, and then today i visited a few runis just oustside of town. Also frequented the worlds highest Irish owned pub (thats what the sign says anyway)
