Brasilian border guards

Text written in: English

The cama service north to Puerto Iguazu last night was a good trip. I can´t ever recall catching another bus where Whiskey was offered before dinner, which was a fine affair with salad, sandwich, chicken and rice washed down with beers, and then followed by champagne. Checked into a nice hotel, then Rich and I headed for the border. Stamping out of Argentina proved no problems, however getting into Brasil on an Australian passport without a visa is another issue. After a few tense silent minutes, and then some frantic explinations and begging in a combination of Spanglish and Portugueseeer, the guard torn up my entry card and waved me through. Will I be able to leave?
The view of the falls from the Brasilian side is awsome, the fact that we visited during a massive thunderstorm that brought down trees and blew the rain sideways, was also an experience. Getting out of the country and back into Argentina was easy enough, seams that the Brasilian border post shuts early, no need to stop.
