Kevvies back - museum time!!

Text written in: English

This doesnt sound that annoying now - but I was woken up at 5am by one of the train staff knocking on the door repeatedly with a coin.  It put me in such a bad mood, but it could have been something to do with what time it was!  I got off the train and got attacked by taxi drivers wanting to take me back to my hotel, and some of them were asking for three dollars, even though it was only about 2km maximum.  I told them to beat it, wlaked around the corner and found a bloke who would take me there for less than a dollar (for this I gave him a dollar anyway).

So, I arrived back at the Little Hanoi hostel at 5.30am with the shutters still over the doors and had to wake up the staff to let me in.  I went up to the lads room, and surprise surprise they had been out the night before and had locked the door after they had got in.  I decided to not even bother knocking, so I went downstairs to ask for a spare key....only to be given my own double room  for the morning for free!  Happy days

At midday, the lads finally awoke from their slumber, and since they had me back to keep them in order, we went to visit a few museums in the afternoon.  This was only after finding an all you can eat pasta joint for a quid for lunch.  It is just a shame it took us this long to find it.  Three plates of pasta and lasagne later, we headed to the Prison museum which was steady at best.  You could go and see the cells and stuff, but they were all tarted up and didnt look that bad to live in!!  It was interesting to see the pictures of the people who were incarcerated there and their stories of escape and survival, but the rest of the museum was plain crap!

Next was the Army museum, whcih we were told was pretty good.  We bought our tickets, only to find out that the museum was closing in half an hour, so we scuttled through quickly and saw some cool weapons and stuff, but nothing we havent seen before, and before we knew it, it was time to get out of there.  What a waste of money!

That night, we sat in with a few beers, watched some shite films, ate sausage baguettes and got to bed relatively early as I was shattered from the crap nights sleep on the train the previous night.
