Punctuality is obsolete here!

Text written in: English

For some strange reason I woke up at 7.30am and couldnt sleep anymore (this is very weird for me...not so for my dad....am I turning into him?) and I had some noodle soup for brekky and booked myself on a three day trekking tour around Sa Pa in northern Vietnam.

Ackroyd was chatting nonsense all morning, and this is just a small sample of what he came out with:

"Arrr man, imagine having a foursome with Sanchez, Cuthbert and Richards!!!!".  Ack wants a foursome with three other men!!! ha ha.  He was actually talking about Denise Richards, Roselyn Sanchez and Elisha Cuthbert, but thats not anywhere near as funny.

For lunch we had a Vietnamese/Korean fusion meal which was pukka, and then aterwards we decided to do a spot of shopping.  I snapped up a few vietnam souvenir t-shirts, five fake books (never buy them from the street sellers, they are 4 times the price as in the shops), Al nearly bought a chav tracksuit and then we headed off in search of somewhere to get our mullets chopped.  It just so happened that the first place we found was Tony & Guy!!  Being poor, and never being ablew to afford to go here at home, we decided to splash out on a decent hair cut as it was only eleven dollars including head massage!

Apart from that I did very little during the day apart from pack my stuff up ready for my trip to Sa Pa the following day (forgetting a fleece in the process, but thankfully not my rainjacket).

I was scheduled to be picked up by a mini-bus at 8.30pm, but since Vietnam had just beaten Thailand in the football to win some crappy tournament, the roads were chocca with scooters and I eventually got picked up at 9.15 by a woman on a scooter who could quite possibly be a competitor for worst driver in the world award!  She was so shit, nearly killed us about three times, but she got us to the train station five minutes before the train was due to leave, so it wasnt all that bad.

Once I got to the station, I found out which platform my train was leaving from and had to run to get on it.  About 30 seconds after I boarded, the train departed for Lao Cai and i got talking to a Belgian couple who I shared my carriage with before passing out at 10pm.
