The Peak by night

Text written in: English

We have spent much longer than first planned in Hong Kong, so we decided it was about time we got ourselves sorted out and left before we spend all of our cash.  We needed to sort out Chinese visa's to get back into China obviously, so we went over the road to an aget who would sort it all out for us.  When we got there, it turned out that i was the only one who needed to get a visa cos Ack and Al has been lucky and got a multiple entry visa when they asked for a single entry.  The lucky bastards.  I had to fork out about 40 quid to get it done by the next day and then we decided we were definately leaving.  Shortly after getting back to the room, Alex scorched another giant cockroach to death on the balcony using ye olde lighter and deodorant method which was pretty disgusting, but funny all the same.  I hate cockroaches - they deserve everything they get.

I sent another package home after having a mardy and walking out of the room without telling the guys where i was going and then caught the Star Ferry back to the island with the idea of going up to the Peak for night fall.  When i got to the other side, it turned out Ack and Al were there waiting for the bus as well, so we caught the bus up together and avoided the tram as it is much more expensive.  The bus trip up to the peak ,i think, was just as impressive as the tram, if not more so, as you get awesome views over Causeway Bay, Happy valley and beyond.

When we got to the top, the views were breathtaking.  We were extremely lucky to have such clear weather and no smog like the sort that usually hangs over the city.  I got some pretty awesome pictures when i was pissing about with the settings on my camera, so hopefully they will look just as good when i get home on the computer screen.

We came down from the peak about 9pm by the bus again and caught an MTR back to TST where we immediately headed off for another curry.  I honestly believe i havent eaten that much since i had 4 kebabs in one day at uni!!  We specifically asked for the Madras to be hot, but it doesnt seem they know the meaing of the word ht here, so it was mild to medium at best but still good though.  Add to this a few starters and lots of naan bread and you have got a pretty healthy feast.  Well, healthy in size maybe, but most certainly not for the waistline.
