This car is driving me insane

Text written in: English

After spending the night curled up in the back seat of a Russian 4x4 in the middle of the Gobi desert, I woke to find that we were moving....its a miracle..or am i still asleep i thought.  The answer to both was no.  Turns out the driver had sobered up by the morning and it had only taken him twenty minutes to fix the problem after all.  From there, we absolutely bombed it for what turned out to be 100km, not the 35km we thought, because Omboo took the wrong road in his drunken stupor.  Now i am very relieved that we shelved the plans to walk to the nearest village last night.

We finally got to Bayanzag around midday (24 hours late) and we explored the Flaming Cliffs for an hour before the car broke again while driving up a steep hill, followed by rolling pretty fast backwards down the hill as the handbrake didnt work.  The cliffs at Bayanzag are famous for the number of dinosaurs found there.  Dont know how many exactly, but i was told there are loads.  Apparently you can tell  if you have found a dinosaur bone by putting it on the end of your tongue.  If it sticks, there is a good chance it is dinosaur.  I dont know about you guys, but i really wouldnt relish the task of licking a 70 million year old bone from a T-Rex.

The car was fixed and broken a further two times before we managed to get out of Bayanzag and to the nearest village 18km away.  We decided that it would be a good idea to ring the office and see what they suggested about how to get to Yolyn An (80km).  After trying and failing to find another car to take us, the office managed to arrange someone to drive from the ger camp we were staying towards the village if we didnt arrive in the next two and a half hours, and in the mean time we would plough on in the shit mobile.  Turns out we got there ok, but it was pushing 6pm so if i wanted to see the Three Beauties (3 mountains) and have a bit of a walk about, it would have to be sharpish.  We managed to find another driver to take us there and we had a walk about for just under an hour.  Yolyn An seemed a really nice place and I would have liked to have the chance to spend a whole day there as initially planned, but I guess thats what you get when you hire an alcoholic driver!!
