Why on earth did we end up here?

Ok, so we left Berlin late last night in a mad rush for the overnight bus, meaning we had to get a taxi, cos surprise surprise Anna was late!!  The taxi driver took us to the wrong bus station initially, when out of no-where came "Z-O-B, Inder nahe von Kaiserdamm U-bahn".  Now honestly, i have know idea how i remembered that cos i was really crap at German at school, but it did the trick and we got there with about 10 minutes to spare.

When we evetually got to the bus station and watched two Neo-nazi girls drinking on the platform with a Ghetto-blaster pumping out German progressive rock music (dont know what that is, but it sounds good).  Got on the bus toWarsaw and initially were quite happy cos we had loads of leg room and loads of spare seats to lounge accross.  When.....as soon as the driver starts the engine, the most annoying Russian soap opera comes on the TV's full blast, making it impossible to sleep for 2 hours!!!  Crap

After an extremely uncomfortable nights sleep, with several interuptions (bus driver related), I awoke, slightly confused as to where i was and what i was doing on a near empty bus.  So for some reason unbeknown to me i decided that the next stop was definately warsaw!! WRONG!!  we ended up in Lodz (aka, the biggest shit hole in the world) and actually managed to find the address of our hostel in Warsaw!?!?!  This confused the hell out of me when i realised there was no hostel there, mainly because we were in the wrong city!!  So i went up to some random Polish bloke and said "Warsawa oder Lodz?", surprisingly he laughed at me and said that we were in Lodz.  Bugger!!!

We then had to make a quick dash back to the bus station, and we were lucky enough to find another bus going to Warsaw in the next few minutes.  Had to pay again though which was a bit of a bummer.  And that concludes our adventure in Lodz!

By the way Lodz is a full 200 km from Warsaw and is just full of horrid communist buildings and more really ugly people!  I got some weird looks cos i was wearing sandals.  It was liekt hey had never seen them before.

Some of the lads back home who are ucky enough to own a copy of champ man, will recoginse this place from the walkover team Widzew Lodz in the Uefa cup every year!! sad i know.....

So far, i honestly dont know why Hitler bothered conquering Poland (it is a shit country), if i were him i would have just conquered everwhere around it and left poland to fester on its own...
