Home Sweet Home

Hi all,

This might seem a wee bit premature (wont be the first time), because i dont actually leave the country for 3 months! But, what the heck, i needed to enter my first post as being my lovely home village of Bleasby.

Currently very bored at work, so i thought i would write about my preparations for travelling so far. We haven't actually booked anything yet, but we hope to start doing so when we get our Eurostar tickets next week.

Visas - what a pain in the proverbials! Especially Russia, why cant you make it easy for visitors to enter your country, eh? Apparently we need to arrange some sort of invitation to get into russia as we are travelling independently. Whereas, if we went through an agency, they would sort this out for us! but that would be far too easy for olde stumpy.
Applying for Aussie working holiday visa at the moment as well - bit miffed that you can only get one in your lifetime! Why cant their immigration be like ours and let any tom, dick or harry in no questions asked????

Vaccinations - Got these little puppies booked for this weekend. Not sure what i'll be having yet as we arent sure where we are going exactly! could be a stumbling block. Dont think i will bother with rabies, as i have always got on well with dogs! any of my mates will vouch for that one (especially uni mates), and as for foxes. As for Japanese B Encephalitis!?!?! what is that? i think the nurse has just made it up to scam some more of my hard earnt money out of me! Bit unsure about this malaria malarchey though! is it really worth the 6 quid a day for medication all the way through asia? im not so sure.

Travel gear - already got most of the stuff i need (and more) except for a mozzie net and a few others. Infact, that mozzie net could be quite inportant should i decide to not take malaria tablets me thinks!

Anyway, i have bored you all for long enough (and my boss blatantly knows i am not doing any work), so im going to go now.
