Copacabana & Isla Del Sol

Text written in: English

We finally managed to leave Peru and we were relieved to say the least. Our first stop was the laid back lake town of Copacabana. We heard good things about it and our expectation were met without much trouble. It is a real backpackers town with music playing all day from all directions, nice cafes, bars and restuarants. We managed to kick back and hang out with Wayne, Patrick, Nicky and Tim and managed to do nothing for about 2 days, a nice little mini holiday.

We finally rustled up some energy and took a boat across to Isla del Sol, the sun island which the Incas believe was the birthplace of the first incas. The island is pretty with beautifull views and indigenous people living in various villages on the island. We walked from the south of the island to the northern part and stayed in a nice hostel with beautifull views of the bay and the fishing village. On the way we made a dog friend which followed us around the island for two days. At night we felt too bad leaving him in the cold, so we let him sleep in our room.

We returned to Copacabana and collected our bags and also Wayne and Patrick and we made our way through to La Paz.
