Sunrise, sunset! Note to self...

Text written in: English

Ahhh Simpsons...anyhoo today we started out with a walk at Kata-Tjuta in Valley of the Winds.  And windy it damn well was, lol, and I took the walk back by myself so that I could go slower and spend time looking at the sights rather than blasting by.  So much for the company that doesn't rush, lol!  It was beautiful though, gorgeous rocks and amazingly blue sky!

Went to Uluru and visited the Cultural centre which was really cool (got some great postcards).  Did a nice walk around some of the base of the Rock and Greg told us some great Aboriginal stories.  Had a great sunset viewing closer to the Rock with crackers and chatted with Tara about all things great in this thing we call life!  We had an okay assorted meat dinner (lol what is it with Australia and their assorted meats?!  lol) and another great night by the fire.  The Rock, as it's referred to by locals,  is definitely amazing!  Just all of the little details you get to see when you're so close up and hearing all of the Aboriginal history.  For example, I had no idea the Rock was on "loan" to the Aussie government for 99 years.  I definitely wasn't climbing up it since not only did it look like the worst climb ever, lol, but the Aboriginal people REALLY don't want people to climb it.  There are signs EVERYWHERE (including RIGHT at the entrance of the climb, lol) and yet people still do it -- I just don't know how you could do something like that if you know it's offending the people whose land it technically is?!!?!?  Ahhhh!!!  Anyway it was just breathtaking!
