Unexpected delight (in Rainbow City)!

Text written in: English

So out of pure love for Daniel Radcliffe I decided to pay a hefty sum for a day tour of Kangaroo Island (off the coast of Adelaide).  HAHA Juuust kidding...just because Daniel will be filming there later this year (December Boys is the flick) doesn't mean that would influence my decision.  Heh.  Anyhoo I was a little apprehensive but meh, needed to do something in that area and that was on the list so why not right?!

Luckily, to my complete surprise, the day was a total gem!  I took a two hour coach bus ride to the cape which included gorgeous rolling hills quite like Western Australia.  Beautiful as the sun was rising!  Made me a little sad that I missed a tour of the winery region (but luckily that was saved...read on!).  The ferry ride over (an hour) was also quite nice and I enjoyed myself a nice little breakfast.  Once on the island I got onto another bus where we drove to Seal Bay.  I really had no interest in going there, lol, but as it turned out it was GORGEOUS!!  There were tons of seals out on the beach relaxing after their four day journey at sea.  Huge guys they were!  And even better than that, they were in their natural habitat, not a zoo or aquarium!  ALSO, the water and coastline was bloody BRILLIANT - gorgeous aquamarine seas crashing all around us!  I absolutely fell in love with the area, I have no idea why they don't market the sea more often.  Lovely!

From there we drove to a relatively tasty lunch at a place along the way (ahh yes, the mystery meat plate I actually ate from!  woo!).  There I saw wild wallabies, which I decided I like better than kangaroos because they're smaller and cuter!

Then it was off to Remarkable Rocks which were pretty cool (big rocks basically lol), but once again I was more in love with the scenery than anything else.  Just gorgeous swooping coast surrounded by green grounds untouched by man.  Awesome!  Then it was off to the one place I had actually really been looking forward to -- Admiral's Arch!  AGAIN, great ocean views as I climed down a billion steps right down to the beach area where there were tons of seals chillin' on the rocks.  Admiral's arch is basically a huge cut out of rock that forms -- get this -- an arch, haha!  But it was seriously beautiful since the sun was going down and the waves were crashing in all around it.  The smell was HORRENDOUS though, lol, smelly seals!

I had a nice chicken nuggets (something tells me not white meat like good ol' McDonalds HAHA) and fries and gravy dinner with a super friendly older couple who talked to me about their travels.  Then it was ferry and bus ride time back and off to bed so that I would be up and ready for my outback tour the following morning!  Yay!

Oh!  I also want to mention that holy Rainbow City batman-- I saw about a MILLION rainbows today -- I don't think I've ever seen so many rainbows in my life, then combined, lol, it was incredible!  They were just absolutely brilliant and apparently it happens quite a bit there.  But yeah, must have seen about 50!  Absolutely gorgeous all day!  :)  (Daniel should enjoy himself, *insert wild laughter*)
