Hot love (aka Gens) in the City!

Text written in: English

Hey my children!  So I have returned to civilization after a long week in the outback of Australia once again.  I have seen some pretty darn amazing things, all of which you'll hear about shortly!  So here I am in Alice Springs -- it's finally hot again!  Woo!  Last night we arrived around 4pm and were SO glad to shower, lol, YAY getting rid of most of the dirt!  Only problem is, of course, that I shower only to return to my filthy clothing lol.  Man!  How excited am I to throw all of my clothes away next week!?  YAY!!  Anyway, we washed up and headed out for dinner at Toddy's, a hostel nearby where our tour guide Greg was staying.  We started up with the boxed wine again (oh man, what a disgusting riot lol) and enjoyed an all you can eat dinner.  Which was great, because our German friend Kris had officially become known as "Proper friend" and he really did constantly eat all he could on our trips lol.  Funny guy--just extremely proper and a bit awkward HAHA!

Anyhoo, it was fun to see everyone all cleaned up and I put on my new gorgeous bracelet (opals!!) to celebrate the night.  After some good dinner (can you believe this is like the tenth time I've eaten sausages here?!  eeeek!) and more wine, lol (CHEAP finally!!!), we got on a free bus and headed down as a group to the classic bar "Bojangles" lol!  Oh man was this place ever a dive!  Just crawling with seedy peeps, haha, but we had a great deal of fun!  Tara, my Canadian friend, and I spent most of our night (as usual) confusing people with our rapid fire dialogue, lol, and amused ourselves by chatting up people around us.  The music was ATROCIOUS but hey, what can you do right?  When in Rome...!!  HA!  We enjoyed some Malibu finally but were disappointed to learn that the bar didn't do shots...booo!!  Anyhoo we danced the night away, made an Irish friend (and then decided he was a jerk later on haha), had some random Canadian guy (from Kanmore Alberta of all places) yapping our ears off, lol, and basically had a great time!

Finally we set out at about 1amish to head back to our scuzzy hostel, lol, which I realized today I had actually written down not to go to (on Nayha and Puja's recommendations lol)!!  Oh well, it's not so bad...our room is SUPER small and smelly but the smelly-ness is mostly our fault hahaha!

Today I slept in (FINALLY!!!  I never want to see another sunrise in my life hahahahaha) and then had a delicious brekkie/lunch when Tara and our British friend Claire came back with awesome supplies.  Yay for finally being able to cook for ourselves!  Yummy!  Then I headed out to get the tourist thing done since I'm flying out tomorrow morning and realized there is nothing to do in this town, haha, Nayha and Puja you were right on the money!  But I went to the Royal Flying Doctor Service centre which was really cool -- basically it's this service of doctors that flies all across Australia in order to help people who are in remote areas (which in upper South Australia/Northern Territory and Western Australia is basically EVERYWHERE HAHA) get medical attention.  Neat!  Then I went and closed my bank account -- sad -- but money!  Not sad!  lol!  Then I went into a store called Wombat because well, it's called Wombat haha!!!  Nothing good there but next door was a cute little store that had my beautiful flowy skirt waiting for me - double the price I would have paid at the Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne, but by the time Nayha and I went back for that one it was gone.  So yeah!  It's quite beautiful, can't wait to show it off!  Also grabbed a bathing suit top for $10--awesome cuz it matches my favourite new bathing suit from home.  I love these crazy Australians who think it's "winter" and so they have bathing suits on sale everywhere HAHA!!!

So yeah -- Alice Springs is bigger than I expected but other than the beautiful weather there's nothing to really do here HAHA!  OH!  Got a copy of Nicholas Sparks' new book in exchange for HP (can you believe I finally gave it up!?) --- how awesome is that for the ride home?!  WOO!!!

Anyhoo I am off to take a dip in the pool and enjoy the sunshine while I can!  It's also nice to have friends again, haha, cuz being by yourself sometimes gets...well...lonely, HAHAHA!!!  Anyway because I'll have nobody loving me in Perth (lol oh I'm just teasing, I don't mind being alone people:) I'll have plenty of time to update you then on how the outback tour was.  Good times!  Hope all is well at home -- it's scary to think I'll be home by this time next week...eeeep!!!  But I am actually looking quite forward to it now!  I've got plenty of great stories to share!  Love you all lots!
