Wow - honestly so much has happened in the past few days I have no idea where to begin (other than at the beginning)! I have no real idea of what I've already told you has happened, lol, but this day is definitely worth mention. I couldn't find St. Kilda listed as a place unfortunately but maybe that's because it's just a suburb of Melbourne. Anyhoo! Let's get to it!
We started out the day by taking a tram from the city to St. Kilda and got out right in front of Luna Park - which, much to our disappointment, was closed. Not surprising though, since these crazy kids think this is "winter" lol! Also I then remembered reading somewhere that it wasn't open during the week, HAHAHA!!! Anyhoo we walked on and noticed a little theatre with "TONIGHT - BILLY CORGAN" on it - woo!! It seemed too good to be true! And, not surprisingly, lol, it was! Turns out those nutty buddies just didn't take the sign down from a week ago when he was there haha! Anyway we plowed on and went to see the pier which was nice. We had a drink to revive ourselves (man was I ever exhausted at this point already, stupid cold!!) and then went into town. There was actually very little to see so we wandered around blindly for a while (ohhh Nayha and her "fabulous" sense of direction!) enjoying the day.
Then we decided to go to the Bottle shop and buy a bottle of wine because REALLY? What better way to enjoy the afternoon! So we enjoyed the wine and played a game where we had to choose between two things and see which we liked more, lol, the toughest being the choice between Ron and Harry of course!! Then, by the time we were finished that, we decided it was time for dinner. So we bought another bottle and headed to an Italian place down the street.
Oh the excitement! Our waiter was actually fairly decent and - get this - asked if we wanted CHEESE on our garlic bread! HOW FANTASTIC! It seems as though Australia is really lacking in their proper garlic bread, lol, so imagine our excitement! But when it came it was actually just like a pizza, hahahaha! Anyhoo we couldn't choose between pasta or pizza so as usual we just got both! The tortellini was not actually all that good (veal, can you believe I even ate it!?) and neither was the pizza actually, haha, but we ate it because we'd already had so much to drink!
Nayha struggled to get a proper drink and I enjoyed some new glass of fruity wine before we headed out to the next place. Apparently people highly recommended these places we went, lol, but sadly we didn't find the same level of greatness! Anyway the next place we went had super cheap beer (a pitcher for $8), and although you all know how I feel about beer, Nayha convinced me to join her. Let me tell you this was quite the little bar - or as Nayha and I refer to it as - the Vampire Lounge hahahaha! Filled with just wacky people who definitely didn't seem to want to talk to us! But hilarious nonetheless!
The next place we went was even worse, haha, nobody was there at all and after a short time we decided it was more for same sex couples than it was for us, lol, so we decided to head home (though we did chat with another guy who looked just like Professor Lupin - this one even more haggard than the last lol). We really had no idea how we were going to get home, lol, and then lo and behold what shows up ? A tram going back to the city, haha!!!
And GUESS where the tram let us off!? RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE CASINO! HELLO! Lol we'd already been toe the casino once and had just loved it - roulette was such our game! But not the table game, we liked playing it on a computer. Way more fun! So we wandered into the casino and this security guard came up to us and started chatting with us. Then he asked for my passport, lol, so I thought for sure I was being arrested for public drunkenness or something! NOT SO MUCH MY FRIENDS! Instead, if you can believe this, he gave us a membership to the casino, HA! So we got free drink vouchers and a $5 coupon for the table games! We enjoyed our free tea/cappuchino and then headed to the game. We played our lucky number 13/16 combo and won on the first time! So we immediately cashed out and left, haha! Such a terrific day!
