Momma don't cry often

We arrived for the last weekend of Pride and the Outgames. The street running through the gay village had been closed off and there were gorgeous boys wandering the streets everywhere. And I mean gorgeous.... ANYWHO. Montreal was as we experienced the last time a wonderfully friendly and sophisticated city, but like last time I had major issues with understanding the accent. I was pleased to discover I haven't gotten out of the "groove" of speaking French, which I was a bit worried about (although after a few cosmos it became a bit of a challenge).

I realised that I managed to lose my drivers licence in San Francisco, and promptly lost my eftpos (debit) card the following day. Cue Daniel buying me a fashionable new slimline wallet that I'll actually use, and taking responsibility for all our paperwork and money from then on! Shopping was absolutely fabulous, I bought stacks. Air Canada delayed out luggage for over 24 hours, so luckily insurance is paying for most of it.
It was hard to believe that it was the same city as last time ... in -30 degree weather, the rue Sainte-Catherine running through the village seemed immense, but at +35 it was little more than a few footsteps across. Snow was replaced by gorgeous restaurant terraces on the Plateau filled with beautiful people seeing and being seen (m'as-tu vu?). Last time I was there, it was the North American aspects of the city which struck me, this time around, the French ones... (although I would not agree with some that a trip to Montreal can be a substitute for a trip to Paris!!).
Anyway, I loved it so much I cried on the plane when we left! And you know momma don't cry often.
