reunification day

when we first heard that we have the chance to be in vietnam on
reunificatiion day (the day north vietnam and south vietnam united 30 years ago) we expected this to be the big deal. we were even hoping to see some communist army parades. but in the end there was absolutely nothing, except that many shops were closed. we were told that there was a big event in saigon and saw some of this on tv. but there still is one thing about reunification that was very present wherever we went in vietnam: the propaganda posters!
