Hello Again Auckland

Text written in: English

So we are back in Auckland (you can't avoid it)but now we have a car and in the middle of the city backpackers with parking are hard to find. We checked into Aspen House - the only one in the centre with parking and instantly regretted it on smelling (and seeing) our room! We went into the city to do some shopping - bought long sleeved tops and marvelled at how much more expensive souvenirs are in the cities!

So after one night in Aspen House we woke at 7am had breakfast and ran, well drove off to find a payphone. We were gonna go horse riding along the beach but being winter they were only doing weekend rides so plan B explore the suburbs! Devonport seemed the place to go so off we went, it was very nice, from the wharf you can see the Auckland skyline with the ugly skytower. We did a walk round Devonport and found all the old turn of the century houses and churches. We'd finished exploring by lunch time so we found a B&B with very friendly owners and then we off in search of a golf course!

How we went from planning to go horse riding to ending up on a golf course I don't know but Ricky's golf withdrawals mean desperate persuasion methods! He did only play 3weeks ago in SYdney but you would think it was 3yrs ago the way he goes on! Well I caddied and kept score and he played 18 holes - scoring a personal best which meant a souvenir Tshirt and out for a mexican to mark the occassion.
