Wow what a place we wish we had more time!!!!

We had heard such mixed views of Surfers Paradise and so we couldn't wait to get there. What was apparently a little town barely on the map and never visited got renamed in the 60's after the 'Surfers Paradise' Hotel(which was knocked down in the 80's) and suddenly became somewhere!
Now you can see it way before you get there as the skyline is covered in high rise apartment blocks, they look very trendy and the Gold Coast as they say is Australia's Florida with Movie World, Wet n Wild, golf courses, shopping malls and 5 mini golf places and even Tiffanys.
When we arrived it was nearly 6pm so we found a campsite right on the beach and headed down to the Surf Club to get some food. Well it was nothing like Home & Away's surf club- there was not a surf dude in sight but the food was good and the wine was cheap!
