We are now in Townsville again (we couldn't help coming here twice we couldn't get from the middle to Cairns without going through Townsville - the roads haven’t been built yet!) we have found another campsite by the sea - we like them! and have been chilling out waiting for Monday.
You see we had just arrived in Townsville when disaster struck and the Torsion bar on Stimpy snapped. Yes Stimpy is ok just a little lop-sided for the weekend until Monday when the garage could squeeze us in- poor Stimpy and poor budget! So we cheered ourselves up with a 'Day of Fun' (yes Steve you missed this one mate) we played Mini Golf and went Ice Skating- lots of fun to take our minds off Stimpy! We also went to check out Townsville's Kissing Point- a manmade swimming pool right on the water's edge where they pump in sea water (minus the jellyfish)every 3hrs, it wasn't as nice as Cairns' Lagoon but it was a good place to top up the tan!
Oh yes and we have had plenty of time to put photos on Ball of Dirt bet you were wondering when we did this or whether the fairies do it for us - No we have to do it ourselves when we don't have Oz to explore!
Once Stimpy was fixed - it was a simple cure! we headed south and stopped in at the Billabong Sanctuary to see more of Australia's native animals. This time we were lured in by the Cassowary( the endangered pretty dangerous prehistoric looking emu thing) and the promise of being able to hold a wombat- which we did and was definately something I won't forget. Oh yeah and we held a crocodile are we brave or what?
