Gold I tell ya ! Gold, well 99.9% gold

We went to Ballarat a town at the heart of the Australian Goldrush and the site of the Eureka Battle where the miners fought the authorities when licences where too strict and conditions were so bad something had to be done.

Here we visited Soverign Hill a reconstruted 1850's mining village and had the chance to go down a genuine goldmine and learn all about gold mining including seeing gold being melted in a puification method. Liquid gold was pretty spectacular and the guy melting it was a real character!
