What a drive Well Done Stimpy

Text written in: English

We reached Melbourne about 8.30pm, found a campsite and had to wake the owners up to check in - they were not happy! We were tired but glad we had made it- thank you Stimpy.
The next morning we went off to explore the city.We took a Tram ride around the city which was free and a really good way to see Melborne but with no air con it was hot and sticky and cramped. So we went off to get some food and find a cd player for Stimpy as we are told there is no radio through the outback.

The next day we decided to check out some of the places we'd seen from the tram ride. Parliament house is one of the most impressive buildings with loads of stone steps leading up to it. We went inside had a tour and then got to go into the gallery and sit in on a debate. The inside was so similar to our House of Commons in layout and decor and the debates were just the same, lots of arguing and name calling - very funny to listen to!

We went down to see the Melbourne Gaol where the infamous Ned Kelly was hung. This was fantastic, the tour guide was ace so enthusiastic and informative and we found out all about Ned Kelly, his crimes and his hanging. The Gaol is traditional in layout and it was dark and a bit spooky walking round and standing in the tiny cells. The guide told us it is thought to be haunted which we can well beleive especially after some of our photos have come out blurry or with unexplained orbs of light!! The death masks they used to make of the prisioners after they'd been hung were all around the Gaol and these definately added to that spooky feeling.

Melborne Formula1 was starting at the end of the week and the cars were on display in Federation Square and people were swarming around. If only we could have stayed to watch the race!

We felt that while we were here we just had to visit Ramsey Street so we went off to find it. It was hard to find as its not called Ramsey Street in real life and isn't on our map but we tracked it down and took the necessary photos as you can see. It was weird though because people live in those houses so we felt a bit rude taking loads of photos but it had to be done. They weren't filming so unfortunately Stimpy doesn't have a staring role.

Melborne is a really gorgeous city it has everything -night life, shopping, beautiful buildings and even a a beach we really didn't want to leave!
