Friday we got up early and went on a trip to Halong Bay - a very spectacular bay with over a 1000 islands ranging from a rock jutting out of the sea to an inhabitable land mass. Although it was freezing cold and very misty it was fantastic and very mystical. We did a boat tour round the islands and the visited an amazing cave with cool stalactites and stalagmites!! Ricky went Kayaking around the bay ( I chickened out - it was too cold to get wet!) and then he even dived off the top of our boat- crazy boy!! That night after dinner of fresh seafood bought from a floating market we slept on the boat in little cabins even with ensuite it was so cool. The next day the mist hadn't lifted and we got lost and then ran aground on a mud patch!!!! Despite all of the passengers climbing onto the roof and running from side to side to try and rock the boat out of the mud, one of the crew had to strip down and swim to a nearby vessel with a rope so they could pull us out of the mud. This trip is certainly eventful :)
