Yesterday we got up for a 8.30(i really need some sleep soon) tour of Soweto - The South Western Township where all the Blacks were forced to live in the apartheid we saw Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu's houses and went to the Apartheid Museum it was a very eye opening and moving day. Soweto is coming along but some of the houses are still shacks and some of the things we saw like the butcher chopping a ox's head in the gutter with an axe and then selling the meat are hard to take in. The museum was hard work lots to read and some pics you didn't even want to look at - but i am glad we went because now i can understand SA a bit better.
